I must say I was genuinely not too happy with a mate at one point last night. I was avoiding the scores and he texted me to say we were the main game on Sky's Game of the Day. I had ignored looking because we are "never" game of the day. I texted back saying was it worth me watching it from mid way through the first half or wait until match choice later. He said "watch it now, it ALL happens in the second half".

Well at 0-2 down and Lukaku putting the ball down for a penalty I really thought he had done me up like a kipper but what a pleasant surprise those last 12 minutes were!!!

"Do these three points now mean we are mathematically safe from relegation"

Not quite. But we're guaranteed to finish above Villa.

And we're in far more "danger" of winning the League than of going down

Nice touch from Payet at the end of the game. Apologies if already done.

We seem to have a team full of proper blokes with character. Invaluable, and a joy to support.

also Lanzini's pass completion percentage is crazy good... i think its nearly 90% which for an attacking midfielder is up there with the best!!

Steve P, I thought Lanzini worked his socks off too, another outstanding talent. Have the Club sorted his long term contract yet?

When you break down our winner down it was brilliant. Like clockwork.

4 men producing 4 totally different skills to score an incredible late winner.

Fabulous cross by cress, brilliant header by AC, superb flick by sakho and a cool neat finish from Dimi.

It really was a joy to behold.

For me one of our goals of the season.

the jock and the manic depressive on the yank coverage were very strange commentators. almost crying when payet scored. I later heard the setanta commentary on the highlights with matt holland and it was completely different

Re: West Ham v Everton - Official Match Thread FT 2-3
Talking of the quality and depth we have now the Commentator yesterday said something along the lines of 'West Ham down to the bare bones on the bench as well with only Andy Carroll & Diafra Sakho the only real attacking options with prem experience' I thought fucking hell mate, we have had Carlton Cole leading the line for the best part of a decade. Having quality like Sakho and Carroll on the bench is unheard of!

Lanzini yesterday

He did not score or bag an assist, but Manuel Lanzini was the unsung hero as West Ham United came from two goals down to beat Everton 3-2 and maintain their push for Champions League qualification.

Michail Antonio, Diafra Sakho and Dimitri Payet scored the goals in the final 11 minutes to down the 10-man Toffees, but the Argentine's contribution should not be overlooked.

Despite being 5 ft 5 in height, Lanzini was arguably the biggest player on the pitch in some ways, clocking over 100 touches and recovering possession for his side on nine occasions - more than any other outfield player.

The diminutive midfielder also completed 82 of his 89 passes and it is clear that he can be as proud as anybody for his outstanding contribution this afternoon.

cheers mike.

as you say, when fit, he will be benefit from all the attention/doubling up Payet will get from opposition teams.

Just watched Cresswell's cross to AC for the 3rd. Absolute gem. To put it on a dustbin lid target from where was...he had a stormer.
